There are times when you need to approve only certain types of users (user roles) and allow the rest to register without any admin approval.
In this tutorial, we will walk you through the process of how you can auto-approve specific roles in Pie Register using the Custom User Role Field.
To get started, you need to create a new form or edit an existing one. If you are new to Pie Register, you may want to look at How to Create your First Registration Form using Pie Register.
Once you are on the form builder, select the Custom User Role field from the advanced tabs.
Customize the field as per the requirements. You can also assign new custom user roles other than the default ones of WordPress. For this you can check our tutorial on How to add a new Custom User Role in Pie Register.
After assigning the required roles, head over to the top field to edit the form settings.
- Choose any type of verification for the field of User Verification.
- Select Yes from the dropdown to enable conditional logic
- Enter the value from the custom user role field you want to auto-approve and select Use Default.
P.S: Make sure to disable User Verification from the global settings, when using default. To disable go to Pie Register > Settings > Security > User Verification.
Save the settings.
When a user registers on your website with the Custom User Role selected as a Teacher, they will receive a thank you message for registering.
That’s it! Now you know how to auto-approve certain user roles in Pie Register. Was it helpful?
