What is Field Visibility Add-on and How does it Work in Pie Register
Field visibility add-on allows you to show or hide specific fields on the front-end registration form or the User’s Profile page.
You can also enable the fields to be Read-only on the registration form, the profile page, or both to restrict users from changing the details once they have filled them.
In this tutorial, we will explain how to use this add-on in your Pie Register forms.
STEP 1: Activating the Field Visibility Add-on for Pie Register
To use the Field Visibility add-on, you must first have the Pie Register plugin for WordPress installed and activated on your website.
If you are a premium user of Pie Register, you can activate the Field Visibility add-on from the list of plugins after installing the plugin. Then under the Help > Licence Tab, click the activate button to finally activate it.
If you are a Pie Register Basic user, you can buy the Field Visibility add-on separately. Just activate the add-on from the list of plugins and then add the License key and Email-address under the Help > Licence Tab. Click on the Activate button.
STEP 2: Select the Pie Register Fields You Want to Show and Hide
From Pie Register > Manage Forms, edit an existing form or create a new one to show and hide fields using the add-on.
Using the field visibility option, you can customize the following properties.
- FIELD VISIBILITY
- ENABLE READ-ONLY
FIELD VISIBILITY
- With the Field visibility option in Pie Register, you can show or hide fields on Registration, Profile, or Both.
- To use this option, click on the Field visibility drop-down.
- Choose any of the choices depending on your requirements.
ENABLE READ ONLY
- The read-only option allows you to set specific fields to be read-only by your users.
- You can restrict your users from changing any information once they have already filled the form.
- By choosing Disabled you allow the users to edit the information from their profile pages as well.
Note:
Field visibility can be applied to the following fields:
DEFAULT FIELD: Email, Name
STANDARD FIELDS: Text field, Text Area, Dropdown, Multiselect, Number, Checkbox, Radio Buttons, HTML Script, Section Break.
ADVANCED FIELDS: Address, Date, Time, Phone, Upload File, Profile Picture, List and Two-step Login via SMS (Twilio).
